This concepts article will help users to manage project using the TDNext interface. The user must have edit projects permissions and the Projects app in TDNext.
Overview
When using TeamDynamix for managing projects it may be helpful to refer to some of the principles prescribed in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The PMBOK is a collection of processes, best practices, terminologies, and guidelines that are accepted as standards within the project management industry. The PMBOK is currently in its 7th edition as of August, 2021.
PMBOK Artifacts and Performance Domains Applied to TDX Projects
The PMBOK names several project Artifacts, many of which correspond to existing TDX features. An Artifact is defined as a template, document, output, or project deliverable. Additionally, the PMBOK also names eight defined performance domains within project management that are a part of nearly every project.
It is important to understand PMBOK Performance Domains and Artifacts like tools in a toolbox. Not every project will require every tool, but it's still important to know what the tools are and what they are used for.
Stakeholder Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with stakeholders throughout the project. A stakeholder is any individual, group, or organization that may affect or be affected by a decision, activity, or outcome of a project, program, or portfolio.

Team Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with the people who are responsible for producing project deliverables that realize business outcomes. This includes the:
- Project Manager
- Project Management Team
- Project Team

Development Approach and Life Cycle Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with the development, approach, cadence, and life cycle phases of the project. Developmental approaches include predictive, iterative, incremental, adaptive, and hybrid project approach methods.

Planning Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with the initial, ongoing, and evolving organization and coordination necessary for delivering project deliverables and outcomes. Planning performance considers:
- Quality management issues (such as accuracy and precision)
- Schedule management practices (such as estimating, crashing, and fast-tracking), and
- Time & Expense tracking
- Budget and Capacity Planning

Project Work Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with establishing project processes, managing physical resources, and fostering a learning environment. This includes managing both explicit and tacit knowledge amongst team members.

Delivery Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with delivering the scope and quality that the project was undertaken to achieve. Includes:
- Requirements gathering and management
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and
- Definition of Done (DoD)

Measurement Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with assessing project performance and taking appropriate actions to maintain acceptable performance. This includes definitions of project metrics and how to measure them, as well as establishing project baselines.

Uncertainty Performance Domain
The activities and functions associated with risk and uncertainty. A risk is defined as an uncertain event or condition that, if it occurs, has a positive or negative effect on one or more project objectives.
