Can I have a third line on a line chart?

I am working on some reports and charts and need to add a third line. Are we limited to two? I understand there is a limit of 10 for pie charts and is there a list of limits we can reference?

Additionally, is there a way of importing a chart from Excel? I understand the data will not be live, but this is for a VP.

Hello Jayne,

Are you perhaps needing to utilize a "bar chart" rather than a "line chart"? Or can you at least share the details of this report and the configuration you currently have for the chart so we can better understand the need?

The only report type that has a limitation is the pie chart. The others will include content even if it ends up making the individual chart components too small to easily decipher.

Thanks for your quick response and I was able to create the chart in Excel so I attached the Excel file to the original question. I'm not sure if bar/column will represent the data well as we aren't comparing, just following the trends. - Jayne Dissette Fri 1/14/22 1:01 PM

Ah I see what you mean, unfortunately currently a line chart only allows 2 lines to be charted along the Y axis in TeamDynamix custom reports. This would be a great enhancement idea though.

As for including a chart from Excel into TDX: It isn't possible to import a chart like that, but if you could host the chart somewhere you could potentially build an HTML module for this particular TDX desktop and make that module reference the chart's hosted page in an iframe or something to allow it to be displayed. - Mark Sayers Fri 1/14/22 1:07 PM
