Webhook info

Hello,

I was wondering if some could provide some additional info on Webhooks. I did look at some of the KBs. However, I would like some clarification.

So seems like Web Services makes calls to the TDX API. Webhooks differs in that it makes calls to systems outside of TDX? I did not see a location for API calls when clicking on the create "New" Webhook. If so, can someone provide an example. I did take a look at https://solutions.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1965/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=95198, but it wasn't clear to me the mechanism of integration and to whom this data sent to. Thank you

Hi Michael,

Webhooks are informational only. They can be used in systems *outside* of TDX to potentially trigger actions, but they in themselves do not take actions like edit tickets (which the API can do). Webhooks really just send a message that an item was created, modified, or deleted.

Hopefully that helps clear things up, but let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
