Auto updating an asset field

I've been asked if there is a way to automate updating the status of about 2200 assets in TDX. We added a new asset field for the 2200 affected assets but would prefer not to set that field on them manually.

Hello Mike,

You could use the asset import functionality to update the custom attribute. I recommend looking into this KB article for more details on that: https://solutions.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1965/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=4056

Specifically in the "Importing with the Asset/CI Application Import Wizard" section of the article.

Hi Mike, 

You should be able to update the assets through an Asset import in TDNext > Asset App > Import > Asset Import. You can download a template from Step 1 of the importer window and just be sure to match up the Service Tag/External ID so that the assets get updated and *not* duplicated. You may want to try testing the import in SB first, to get the import file exactly how you want it.
