Adding Favorites in TDNext

Good afternoon:

One of our users has a "Favorite Services" tab in TDNext, and would like to add additional services to the list.

I do not seem to have this when I load TDNext, and I would like to know how to add the tab and how users can add or remove favorite services within TDNext.

Thank you.

Hello Anderson,

That is just a desktop report module (that is baked in to TDNext) which displays any service that you have manually marked as a favorite via the "Add to Favorites" button in the client portal for said service(s). For instance, if you had access to our TDNext here, and went to https://solutions.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1965/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=2147 and clicked that button for this service, when you viewed your TDNext desktop, the "My Favorite Services" report module would show that Service in the list.

Got it. Thank you.

I had tried testing that out, but unfortunately, the module does not seem to appear on my desktop (I have tried refreshing signing out and back in, and alternative browsers to no avail).

Would there be a way to force the module to appear?

Thank you.

It only is available to your main TDNext > Desktop "app" desktop. So you access TDNext, go to your Desktop app/tab, Edit a desktop, go to the Content tab, expand the Client Portal section of the left-hand nav, then you should be able to locate that module and add it to one of the columns of the page. Save that, then refresh your Desktop tab.

If that isn't working, please provide screen shots of what and where you went to attempt to modify your desktop.

Hello, Mr. Sayers:

I followed the steps that you suggested and I was able to add the report as seen in the attached Screenshot1.png. However, the dropdown that appears on our user's desktop (appearing in the Client Portal's related ticketing app) as seen in Screenshot2.png does not appear.

Correct, that is only a function of the TDNext's ticketing applications, it does not appear on the Desktop tab of TDNext. - Mark Sayers Tue 7/5/22 5:02 PM
Thank you, Mr. Sayers:

Would there be a reason why it appears for our user but does not appear in my instance of TDNext? Would there be a way for users to customize what appears?

Thank you.

You would have to add the module to a desktop in your TDNext > Desktops app/tab, then make sure you are viewing that desktop. Which of your own desktops did you add the module to? and was it a desktop marked as a TDNext desktop? - Mark Sayers Wed 7/13/22 2:26 PM
The "Favorite Services" button has been added to my TDNext IT instance. It is separate from the desktop report module and is similar to what is seen in Screenshot2.png . IT does not look like I have the option to add or remove services, and the menu contents are not affected by the favorite services that I set in the client portal. - Anderson Hanchett Wed 7/13/22 4:18 PM
Any service that you have favorited, which creates tickets in that app specifically, should show up when you click the "Favorite Services" button. If you've added new services, which for sure create tickets in that app, you'll need to refresh the app page before the new service shows up. - Mark Sayers Thu 7/14/22 9:05 AM
Thank you, Mr. Sayers:

This worked. For some reason, it did not work a few days ago, but is functioning properly now. All is well.
