Can we determine if a report is being used on someones desktop?

Hello,

I am trying to clean up reports in our instance. Obviously I can see when a report was last run and by who, however, I believe some reports are not "ran" but simply sit on someones desktop. There are reports that have not been ran in almost 2 years I know are being used on desktops. Is there a way to show which reports are being used on a desktop so they do not get removed, short of asking the owner?

Thank you

Hello David,

The short answer is there is no concrete way to tell if a report is currently on a desktop for someone in some application that they have access to.

You *could* do something like: Check the TDAdmin > Desktop Templates > Desktop Templates area to see if that report is currently on any of your standard templates you've created for provisioning to users, but beyond that it would take a user-by-user inspection to tell for sure if anyone has a desktop that the report in question is on.

Best bet is likely to at least see who is the owner and who the report is accessible to, and ask those folks if it is in use at all. It might not narrow the results down a lot, but it will be a little bit better than blasting the entire organization with a request about their report usage in TDX.
