Resolution
The built-in Manager field does not allow you to specify more than one user, nor does it allow you to populate a group value. Where possible, we advise identifying the primary manager of the department based on HR or Payroll data.
If you need to store information about multiple managers for an account or department, or wish to specify a backup manager, this can be accomplished with custom attributes:
- In TDAdmin > Organization Settings click Account Attributes in the left-hand navigation pane
- Click the +New button at the top of the screen
- Create a new Acct/Dept custom attribute, and be sure to select the Attribute Type: Person
- Configure the custom person-type attribute as needed
- Click Save
Once configured, you can use the custom person-type attribute at various points in the system, including in relative roles on workflow steps.
Though you cannot customize the columns that display on the TDAdmin Acct/Dept page, you can see these custom attributes with custom reports built in the People or Analysis application in TDNext.
