This introduction article will help users to understand security roles that are specific to platformed applications using the TDAdmin interface. The user must have the TDAdmin access or be an application administrator in the platformed application in question.
Overview
This article describes working with security roles for the different applications: Ticketing Applications, Asset/CI Applications, and Client Portal Applications. Each type of Application can have multiple instances with different purposes, so each user may need a different security role within that application.
Where to Find This
This feature appears in the TDAdmin interface.
Navigate to TDAdmin following these paths:
Accessing Application Security Roles
Administrators with access to different parts of the TeamDynamix system will need to access the security roles following different paths.
Organizational Administrators can access the security roles for all applications. In TDAdmin, navigate to Applications > [Application Name] > Users & Roles > Security Roles.
Ticketing and Asset/CI Application Administrators can access the security roles for the Ticketing or Assets/CI Application they are administrator of. In TDNext, select the icon in the top right > Admin > Users & Roles > Security Roles.
Client Portal Application Administrators can access the security roles for the Client Portal Application they are administrator of. In TDClient, click your name at the top, select Admin > Users & Roles > Security Roles.
Configuring Application Security Roles
Learn more about security roles from the Getting Started with Security Roles article.
On the Application Security Roles page, you can create multiple security roles for each type of user who will use that Application. The permissions that will be allowed for each security role will be determined by the License Type selected for that security role.
Once security roles are defined, organizational administrators can add users to the application from the application's Users page, or they can manage all a user's applications from the Applications section in the User Detail page. Application-level administrators cannot change who has access to the application.
