Does Microsoft's October 1 2022 Deprecation of Basic IMAP Impact My Institution?

Microsoft has been communicating the deprecation of Basic IMAP authentication for some time. It is possible that TeamDynamix may not be able to authenticate to your email accounts after October 1st, 2022. Please consult with your email administrator to understand if the mailboxes to which TeamDynamix regularly connects will be impacted and to configure OAuth-based authentication to these mailboxes.

How to Know If Your Institution Is Impacted:

  1. Navigate to TDX Administration > Applications > [Select a Ticketing Application] > Email > Email Reply Auth Accounts

  2. If none of the ticketing applications have an Email Auth Account with the 'Type' equivalent to 'Basic (IMAP)' AND the 'Active' Field states 'True,' you do not need to take any action.
  3. If any of the ticketing applications have an Email Auth Account with the 'Type' equivalent to 'Basic (IMAP)' AND the 'Active' Field states 'True,' you need to take action. Proceed to next section.

  1. Navigate to TDX Administration > Applications > [Select a Ticketing Application] > Email > Email Monitors.
  2. Select each monitor to determine which one(s) is utilizing the Basic IMAP Auth Account. You can tell if a monitor is utilizing a Basic IMAP Auth Account by first selecting the Monitor > Scroll down to 'Email Settings' > Auth Account. DX Administration > Applications > [Select a Ticketing Application] > Email > Email Monitors

  3. Once you determine which Email Monitors are setup with a Basic IMAP Auth Account, you will then need to create a new Auth Account for each monitor.
