Microsoft has been communicating the deprecation of Basic IMAP authentication for some time. It is possible that TeamDynamix may not be able to authenticate to your email accounts after October 1st, 2022. Please consult with your email administrator to understand if the mailboxes to which TeamDynamix regularly connects will be impacted and to configure OAuth-based authentication to these mailboxes.
How to Know If Your Institution Is Impacted:
- Navigate to TDX Administration > Applications > [Select a Ticketing Application] > Email > Email Reply Auth Accounts
- If none of the ticketing applications have an Email Auth Account with the 'Type' equivalent to 'Basic (IMAP)' AND the 'Active' Field states 'True,' you do not need to take any action.
If you are using a Microsoft OAuth 2.0 or Microsoft OAuth 2.0 IMAP type Auth Account, you do not need to take any action.
- If any of the ticketing applications have an Email Auth Account with the 'Type' equivalent to 'Basic (IMAP)' AND the 'Active' Field states 'True,' you need to take action. Proceed to next section.

What to Do if Your Institution Is Impacted:
- Navigate to TDX Administration > Applications > [Select a Ticketing Application] > Email > Email Monitors.
Repeat this step for every Ticketing Application to determine which Application's Email Monitors are utilizing Basic IMAP Auth Accounts.
- Select each monitor to determine which one(s) is utilizing the Basic IMAP Auth Account. You can tell if a monitor is utilizing a Basic IMAP Auth Account by first selecting the Monitor > Scroll down to 'Email Settings' > Auth Account.
Repeat this step for every email monitor to determine exactly which ones need to be changed from Basic IMAP.

- Once you determine which Email Monitors are setup with a Basic IMAP Auth Account, you will then need to create a new Auth Account for each monitor.
Creating New Auth Accounts
Perform these steps in an Incognito/Private Browser Window. This will allow you to generate the access token when you sign into your environment around SSO for the new Auth Account.
Sign in to your environment around SSO by tailoring the following URL to your environment's domain: https://yourdomain/TDAdmin/Logintdauth.aspx. Close your Incognito/Private Browser window after you create each Auth Account, and open a new Incognito/Private and sign in around SSO again to generate the next Auth Account and its access token. Repeat for every Auth Account you need to create.
