Syncing the TeamDynamix Calendar with External Calendars

This how-to article will help users to reference TDNext calendar information in an external calendar application. The user must have access to TDNext.

​Overview

This article describes how to add a calendar feed to an external calendar application such as iPhone, Outlook or Google. In order to generate a calendar link, you will need to enable your personal calendar or configure a calendar feed. See Working with the TeamDynamix Calendar for instructions on how to generate a calendar feed and to learn more about calendars. 

To avoid typing a calendar feed URL into your phone, you could email yourself the URL for an easy copy and paste.

Accessing your TeamDynamix Calendar on your iPhone

To add the TeamDynamix calendar to

  1. Click the Settings icon on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Calendar - Accounts
  3. Click Add Account.
  4. Click Other.
  5. Click Add Subscribed Calendar.
  6. Enter the iCalendar URL found TeamDynamix under My Profile > Settings. (right click on the calendar "URL" and copy the URL to be used)

Accessing your TeamDynamix Calendar in Office 365 / Outlook

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Open File > Account Settings > Account Settings for the desired account.
  3. Click Internet Calendars.
  4. Click New.
  5. Enter the URL found in TeamDynamix under My Profile > Settings > View My Calendar Feeds > Feed URL.  (right click on the calendar "URL" and copy the URL to be used)
  6. Click Add.
  7. In the Folder name field, type the name of the calendar as you want it to appear in Outlook.
  8. Click the checkbox under Attachments.
  9. Click OK.

The calendar should now be visible under Other Calendars

Accessing your TeamDynamix Calendar in Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar in a browser.
  2. In the left side menu, click the + next to Other Calendars.
  3. Click From URL.
  4. Enter the URL found in TeamDynamix under My Profile > Settings > View My Calendar Feeds > Feed URL. (right click on the calendar "URL" and copy the URL to be used)
  5. Click Add Calendar.

Accessing your TeamDynamix Calendar in Outlook.com

  1. Open Outlook.com.
  2. Click the calendar icon at the bottom of the page.
  3. In the navigation pane, select Add calendar.
  4. Select Subscribe from web.
  5. Enter the Calendar URL found TeamDynamix under My Profile > Settings.  (right click on the calendar "URL" and copy the URL to be used)
  6. Name the calendar something meaningful.
  7. Click subscribe.

Gotchas and Pitfalls

  • When retrieving your calendar URL be careful to capture the URL and not just the .ics file.  If you left click on the "URL" it may initiate a .ics file download.  Running this file in outlook could result in a single snapshot calendar in Outlook and lead to the calendar not automatically updating.  To avoid this right click on the "URL" and copy the link address.  Use this value when mapping the Internet calendar in Outlook.
