Notification

It has been brought to my attention that on ticket number 22831566, a person was initially notified (sonali@uwindsor.ca) as part of a group notification.  This person was then removed for the group that the notification was sent out to, the ticket was updated afterwards, but sonali@uwindsor.ca received notification even though they were no longer a part of the group.  My thought on why this happened is that because she was one of the people previously notified, that she was included subsequently.  Would this be correct, or is there another explanation?

Hi Mathew,

This is expected and it has to do with the way the reply tokens are generated and encrypted. It tells the system exactly who all needs to be notified when someone replies to that email, and it has encoded the membership of all the responsible group members as they existed when the notification was created.

Let us know if you have additional questions!

Hi Mathew,

Yes if a person was notified on a particular Feed thread, any further comments to that same feed thread would also notify them even if they weren't part of the group the original post was sent to.
