Asset export to Excel

We have used a number of custom attributes in our Asset imports.

We would like to be able to do an export of ALL the Asset records with ALL the fields, including the custom attributes.

The Export to Excel function does not do this -- only a subset of the Asset fields are exported.

While I understand that it may be possible to get each Asset record one by one with a call to the "Gets an asset" API, it would be a great convenience if we could get a dump of all the Assets at once (all together at one time -- not one by one).

Is there any way to do this?  I haven't found anything in the documentation that suggests it is currently possible, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

Hi Mark,

You should be able to create an Asset Report in TDNext that includes columns for every attribute you need, including Custom Attributes. Then, you can export the report results to Excel. Do you know how many total assets your organization has? The Report Builder is limited to offering 50k results, so it may require multiple reports if the number is higher than that limit.

Hello Brittany,
.
Thank you for your prompt response.
Unfortunately, the Report option does not seem to meet my needs. When I open a new Report in the Assets application, I see the following fields as options:
ID
Name
Serial Number
External ID
Service Tag
Manufacturer
Product Model
Supplier
Location
Room
Status
These are the ONLY fields that I can select for the report.

Not included are my "Primary Computer", "Lab Computer", "Loaner", "Loaner Status", or any of the other Custom Attributes. How could I add these to the report?

Under the "Select the Columns you would like to see" section, there should be a green Add button that you can click to add a new column. You'll see the blank column populate as the last row and you can use the dropdown to select any custom attributes. Here is a quick screencast if it's easier to see: https://www.loom.com/share/d27c1bbfef334c76952649a7dee0dd20?sid=ba7f2506-00e9-4006-bd0f-cf141c762102

Let me know if that helps!

Hello again Brittany,

Thank you, this seems to be the answer I needed.

For some reason I just wasn't paying any attention to the Add button -- I honestly don't know why.

Thanks again for a quick response.
