Kb & Waterfall Plan Focus jumps to the top of the screen when editing

In the KB, anytime the dialog box is used to edit something like an image or link, once you close that dialog TD throws you back to the top of the article.

Incidentally, this also happens when checking out a project plan.  For example, when viewing task 85 and realizing it needs to be updated, clicking on "check out" returns the view to the top of the plan, which means that it is necessary to scroll all the way back down to task 85 again to update it.

Are these bugs or should they be enhancement requests?

I have learned from the user that the problem "anytime the dialog box is used to edit something like an image or link, once you close that dialog TD throws you back to the top of the article." is when he is using Firefox. When using Chrome, it works as expected. - Sarah Glatz Mon 10/2/23 9:31 AM
Is the user on the latest version of Firefox? - Mark Sayers Mon 10/2/23 9:52 AM
Yes, he is on the most recent version. Here is a video of what he is experiencing: https://youtu.be/Ml37ZGlZDf0 - Sarah Glatz Mon 10/2/23 11:22 AM
The video in question just shows the Article's *Edit* page loading up. It doesn't really show him interacting with any of the dialogue boxes. Is he running any extensions though? and has he tried disabling all extensions in Firefox to see if that makes a difference?

He might have to try clearing his browsing cache and temporary files too.

My apologies, Mark - I cut the video short somehow as Paul posted it on an internal space and I had to screen record his video. Here it is in totality and you can see the issue happening. https://youtu.be/B_rN6R_Eh8Y
It should be 54 seconds not 15.

Ok, can we try having him disable his browsing extensions? - Mark Sayers Mon 10/2/23 12:03 PM
Paul has two browser extensions. He disabled them both and the same issue persists with getting brought to the top of the document every time he uses a dialog box to edit a link or image. - Sarah Glatz Mon 10/2/23 12:40 PM
Problem persists with browser extensions disabled. - Sarah Glatz Wed 10/4/23 12:12 PM
Interesting. I don't quite know what the issue could be, but I do not see it in Firefox at all which is odd. Does he run any programs on his machine to help with accessibility? I see the yellow tinged circle of color around where he is clicking his mouse button. - Mark Sayers Wed 10/4/23 12:22 PM
Can we add Paul.Barnes@unh.edu to this ticket so that he can answer directly? - Sarah Glatz Wed 10/4/23 2:26 PM
This is a Question in the public questions forum, so if he sets up a Solutions account (if he doesn't have one already) he can just navigate to this URL and see the question and chime in. - Mark Sayers Wed 10/4/23 2:48 PM
Paul Barnes "No accessibility applications. The yellow dot I believe is Kaltura Capture, what I used to record the screen. " - Sarah Glatz Wed 10/4/23 4:51 PM
Sorry for the delays on this. I think this has to do with the way the system has to re-GET the image file in the larger or smaller sizing (you can see this happens in the browser's Developer console in the Network tab). It seems to be expected potentially, but certainly submit a support ticket (specifically as a ticket as opposed to this open Questions forum) so we can escalate it if you/he believes this is some sort of bug. - Mark Sayers Wed 10/4/23 4:57 PM

Hello Sarah,

I don't see that happening personally on a KB article currently. If I am opening an existing image or link's dialog box and hit OK, it stays put on the same location of the screen where I was before.

I wonder what browser and version you are using?

I'm not seeing the Windows Plan Manager issue either. Have you perhaps fully updated the application recently or uninstalled and reinstalled it since moving to the cloud?

Sincerely,

RE: Waterfall plan, here is a screen recording of the behavior. It happens 100% of the time for me using Chrome. https://youtu.be/svRmhdk98h0 - Sarah Glatz Tue 9/26/23 11:08 AM
You're editing the waterfall plan in Web plan manager then? Sorry I was operating from the basis of doing it in our Windows Application, which does not do that. For the web plan manager, that is an unfortunate behavior that is expected currently. - Mark Sayers Tue 9/26/23 12:48 PM
