Unable set Client Portal Security Role to Client

I have an IPaaS flow that is attempts to set the default Client Portal Application and Client Portal application with the correct security role ID and security role name.  However, the result of the update will not change the security role of the Client Portal application but will update all the other applications correctly.

Also, when I try to update a People record through TDAdmin and downgrade the license to a Client, click Applications and Save to remove the non-licensed application, the Client Portal Security role will not change to "Client," and the security roll has to be "manually" updated to reflect the Client security role.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Tevis

Hello Tevis,

What endpoint (specifically I'm asking for the URL here) is your iPaaS flow calling when it tries to modify this information for a user?

For your second question, this is happening because you could grant those persons more licensing permissions than their primary security role indicates in the client portal. You *will* have to change those roles for client portals manually to adjust them.

I am using the TDX Admin connector with the Update User endpoint. All other applications are set correctly; only the ClientPortal application cannot be set. I believe the answer you provided for my second question answers the first question.

That said, I don't think you should have to change the manually Client Portal security role, either through an API call or through the "Save" operation when you manually update a person's record. I will put in a feature request.

Thanks, Tevis
