Information on Banner integration

We are looking for some information on Banner integration with TDX, specifically some "use cases" or videos that might show the practicalities of the integration.

Hello Ben,

Can you advise what specific integration with Banner you're looking to achieve? Are you just wanting to sync users from Banner to TDX or are you wanting to do something else?

Sincerely,

Hey Mark, we use Banner as our primary source of user/people data. Not the BEST process but it is the source of our People Import data and honestly we do a full import nightly and are trying to get to a place where we only use data that has changed since the previous import. But as we look at iPaas integrations and look at our data - primarily about people but also about locations and rooms - we realize we have a lot of inconsistency and we may need to clean up our data (on both sides possibly). Not sure if that helps Ben but it may also be person data for his use cases. - Michael Press Thu 8/10/23 5:00 PM
Yes, the only real "integration" we have with banner per se is through an iPaaS connector that can read data from Banner directly. You *could* very well configure a flow (or maybe string together some flows) that read user data either nightly or 'live' and update user account data in TDX.

Other than that iPaaS functionality, any "integration" with Banner is likely only via our People Import utility, which isn't so much an integration with Banner as it is: Banner produces a CSV file, formatted a certain way with certain columns and values, and the utility reads that file, cuts it into smaller files as needed, and submits it for you. A Server/machine level event scheduler can allow you to trigger that utility so its activating script runs at a certain point at night to submit your file for you.

That may be what we end up doing (the iPaaS flow).  Thanks, Mark!
