asset app for services/service offerings questions
Hello
We're exploring the value of having a separate asset app for services / service offerings and have a few questions:
Would having a separate asset app for services/service offerings would be helpful perhaps for things like maintenance windows in TD
If a separate asset app is created, is changing the drop down value on each service we already have enought to move the service to that new app?
Are there any gotchyas for having a separate asset app for services?

Hi Kay,
We do have this KB article that outlines pros and cons of having multiple applications:

That said, each service that you have directed at the current asset application, would need to be changed in the dropdown that you mentioned on the service. However, the asset application for a service can be edited until a maintenance window is provided or the service has one or more related configuration items. So, it's likely that if either of those are true, you may not be able to just simply change the dropdown.
