Security - Application Specific Administrator vs Full Administrator

Hello,

I’m looking for security permissions information/suggestions.  How are administrator permissions given for a specific application without giving full administrator rights/permissions to our entire TeamDynamix environment?  Here are specific examples:

  • I am an administrator for a specific Asset/CI application but not for my organization’s entire TeamDynamix environment/application, what permissions should I be given to access TD Admin and maintain the Asset/CI application forms, attributes, etc. only while not having administrator access to anything else/the full environment?
  • Similar question, what permissions should be granted to give a user or group administrator permissions over only Projects/Workspaces and Portfolio Planning without being given full environment administrator access?

Thank you,

Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

For a ticketing app, an Asset/CI app, or a Client portal app, you can simply access the account of the person who needs to be made an Admin by going to TDAdmin > users & roles > users > look up the account. Then go to their Applications section of their account, and check the App Admin check box for the app in question.

Unfortunately for things like projects/ workspaces /project requests only a full organizational Admin can access the Admin area for those, and there isn't a way around that or to restrict a full Admin to *only* be able to access those areas of TDAdmin.
