Project Time summary report

Hi,

We have been trying to find a project time summary report that shows project name, project manager, and total hours by project, instead of individual project time entries. The point of the report would be for a supervisor to see where an employee is spending their time. 

Also, I have been searching the solutions guide for resources on time reports and haven't found much. Do you have any other resources available? Like custom report templates for particular use cases?

Hello Gretchen,

You should be able to run a custom Actual Hours Report in the Analysis application with the following columns and filters to get pretty close to what you are asking for:

Columns

  • Person
  • Project Manager
  • Hours (aggregate = Sum)
  • Project/Workspace

Filter

  • Resource Pool Manager is one of = [manager's name], alternately use Reports To if that is the person trying to run this type of report.

You could further filter on Item Type = Task, and Item Type = Project (one filter for each of those), but if you *do* add that, then include advanced filtering to say that the filter for Resource Pool Manager/Reports To is 1 AND (2 OR 3) with filters 2 and 3 being the two Item Type filters.
