Access Survey Responses

I have technicians that are able to view all submitted survey responses. These users are in a role within the Ticketing app that has no survey permissions, including "Access Surveys".  Is there a new setting somewhere that I am missing?  I know when we set this up they did not have access to the responses.

Thanks for help in advance!

So we recently switched over to the Universal license.  Even though they don't have that enabled in the Ticketing app but have access to the Analysis application, does that override the ticketing app roles?

Ticket app: 207

User: bplace

This appears to be because the user has the security role permission "View All Application Instances in Analysis", and users with that permission on their main security role can see surveys in all ticket apps they can access. Plus they could report on surveys from any app via Analysis.

To correct, you would need to remove that permission from their security role. It still would allow them to create Analysis reports on ticket data for any app they actually have access to, but it'll remove their ability to also view the surveys from apps that they aren't specifically given survey access to.

Surveys are part of the ticketing app and the users are assigned to that ticketing app. The wording of this permission doesn't seem to make sense since Surveys aren't their own application. - Danee Gunka Schwartz Wed 3/16/22 4:26 PM
I do agree, however I did confirm with Engineering that they are linked currently. Please try removing the permission, have a user test by signing out of TDX and sign back in, then go to the ticket app to see if the Surveys section of the Gear menu shows up. - Mark Sayers Wed 3/16/22 4:28 PM
So by removing the above setting, this removed the access from the Ticketing Application, both the dropdown in the gear and the report option (which this should be handled by the security roles within the ticket app). The option is still available though within the Analysis application to run the Survey Response reports. - Danee Gunka Schwartz Wed 3/16/22 4:54 PM
Yes, and Analysis does give that access by its nature, so if you are granting Analysis app access there isn't going to be a way to fully remove the users' ability to see survey data from an Analysis report. - Mark Sayers Wed 3/16/22 4:55 PM

They can view the responses from the Tickets Tab and then the gear on the right and Surveys.

Which ticketing app is this in, and can you provide the name of one of these users? - Mark Sayers Wed 3/16/22 3:40 PM

Hello Danee,

Where exactly are these users going within TDNext to view the survey responses? Are they just writing a report?
