Report folder ownership

Hi there,

is there a way to take ownership of the report folder? We are trying to adjust the permission on the folders, but are unable to do so. It seems the owner is the only person who can make changes.

Hello Jack,

Currently report folders are not able to have their ownership transferred. And only the owner/creator of the folder can manage it's access permissions.

You can still change the ownership of the actual reports from TDAdmin though, which should allow the owner of the report to remove it from a folder that they may not own.

We have a bunch of report folders we want to edit but don't know who the owner is (we tried many accounts). It is possible for TDX to transfer those report folders' owners to our system account or maybe delete them for us?

I'm not sure to be honest, but you can submit this as a Support ticket formally and I'll ask Engineering for you. Please include the names of the folders and the app name and app ID that they were created in.

You might also access any reports that were associated with these folders and edit them so they are no longer associated before we would ask to remove the folders. - Mark Sayers Fri 3/18/22 12:56 PM

I do not believe it was ever submitted, or at least by the person previously asking about this topic.

There is for sure no admin interface that can allow report folders to be edited and modified by a TDAdmin, so I believe it would take either signing in as the user who owns the folders or else asking if Engineering is able to modify the ownership of the folders. - Mark Sayers Wed 7/13/22 3:32 PM

I have come across the same problem and submitted an enhancement request - 21917067.
