Shared Desktop is not refreshing

Greetings,

I am sharing a Desktop Template per instructions and it intitially worked great. I then make some changes, and the shared desktop does not update. I pushed it out again, but it was still the original desktop. The receiver refreshed and logged out/in and still the desktop does not update. I have now deleted the first push and am waiting to hear results.

Should the desktop change when I make changes? Am I missing a setting in my source desktop?

Hello Jayne,

Had this person made any updates/modifications at all to their desktop after it was initially applied to them? If yes, making additional changes to the template the desktop was derived from would not filter down to them. The desktop would have to be newly applied to their account from the template again to ensure it is synced with that template.

Hi Mark,

Yes, he had and I pushed it out again and it did not update with the changes (he refreshed and logged out/logged in) and he continued to see the original material. I also deleted it from Users and sent the updated desktop and he still saw the original. I'll try to get us to allow for more time with the updates so it can go out as new and see if that works.
Should the pushed desktop be interactive so the receiver can drill down in the data?

Thanks again for your great and very quick answers!
Jayne

You would have needed to delete the original desktop(s) from his account first, then push the new one back to him based on the updated template to get an updated version to him.

But yes the desktop ought to be interactive so they can drill into the data, assuming they have access to the applications where the data exists.

I did delete before sending the new one, but I'll have him log out and log back in before using out the new one this time. Thanks again for your great help! - Jayne Dissette Tue 1/25/22 11:23 AM
