This introduction article will help administrators to manage their organization’s project Goals list using the TDAdmin interface. The user must have TDAdmin access.
Overview
The organization’s Goals allow for a list of typical objectives that a project would achieve to be defined and utilized by projects and requests.
Where to Find This
This feature appears in the TDNext and TDClient interfaces, but they are created from TDAdmin > Portfolio Planning > Goals.
Using Goals
Creating and Modifying Goals
You might find that a new goal is needed as you expand the scope and impacts of what your projects affect.
To create a new goal:
- In TDAdmin, navigate to Portfolio Planning > Goals.
- Click +New.
- In the New Goal window, enter a Name.
- Click Save.
To edit the name of an existing goal or mark it as Inactive, go to TDAdmin > Portfolio Planning > Goals, and click the Edit link next to the goal.
Setting the Goals Percent of Value
The Goals Percent of Value determines how goals will be weighed in the composite score. Changes to this value do not update the composite score of any projects with goals already added. It will only be updated once a goal is added to or removed from a project.
To set the Goals Percent of Value:
- In TDAdmin, navigate to Portfolio Planning > Goals.
- Click the dropdown and select a new percent of value option.
- Click the Save button.
Deleting Goals
When a type of goal becomes outdated or stops being used, it should be removed from the system rather than marking it as Inactive.
To delete a goal:
- In TDAdmin, navigate to Portfolio Planning > Goals.
- Click the Delete link next to the unused goal.
- Click the OK button in the confirmation popup.
Gotchas & Pitfalls
The percent of value for goals is applied to all goals at the same percentage.
