This how-to article will help administrators to associate existing Time Types in their system with their Ticket Types using TDAdmin. The user must have access to the TDAdmin console.
Overview
If you want to track time against Projects and/or Tickets, creating Time Types is the first step. For more information on creating Time Types, see this article. Time Types must be created before you associate with Project and/or Ticket Types.
Adding a Time Type to a Ticket Type
Before attempting this at least one Time Type and one Ticket Type will need to exist in the environment you're going to work out of (Production or Sandbox).
To add a time type to a ticket type:
- In TDAdmin, click Applications in the left navigation.
- Select the desired Ticketing Application Name.
- Select Types
- Click on the name of the ticket type to which you would like to add a time type to.
- Click on the Time Types tab.
- Select the time type from the list that you would like to add to the ticket type.
<p class=”alert alert-info”>You can select multiple time types from the list to add them all at once.</p>
- Click the Add button at the top of the page
Deleting a Time Type from a Ticket Type
If a Time Type is already associated to existing transactions, you cannot delete it.
To delete a time type from a ticket type:
- In TDAdmin, click Applications in the left navigation.
- Select the desired Ticketing Application Name.
- Types
- Click on the name of the ticket type from which you would like to remove a time type
- Click on the Time Types tab, located immediately to the right of the General tab across the top of the page
- Click on the Delete link next to the time type you wish to remove
- Click OK when asked to confirm that you want to remove the time type
Note that while deleting a time type from a ticket type cannot be undone, you can always add the time type back later if necessary.
