What data is incorporated into the Returns calculation on Project Requests and Projects?

Question

• What additional data, beyond the Returns section, is incorporated into the Returns calculation?
• How do the values presented in the period-based table influence the Returns calculation?

Environment

• The Returns section is part of both Project Requests (in TDClient and Work Management Portfolio Planning) and Projects in Work Management
• Work Management (TDNext) access to Portfolio Planning and/or Projects

Answer

• Expense data from both the Role Forecast and Expenses sections of a project request or project are used to populate the Cost field in the Returns calculation. This connection between the sections remains active until the "Save" button is clicked within the Returns section.
• Although the values in the period-based table can be edited and saved, any modifications made within the table will not be reflected in the overall calculations for ROI, NPV, Payback Period, or IRR.
