Managing Password Settings in Teamdynamix

Tags password

This how-to article will help Administrators to manage each User’s password expiration settings using the TDAdmin interface. The user must have the Administrative permission to Modify Password Settings as an organization Administrator.

Overview

Administrators can set password settings for user accounts that sign in with TeamDynamix Authentication. These password settings do not apply to any users who authenticate using Single Sign On or LDAP.

Configuring TeamDynamix Authentication Settings

To modify these settings, the administrator must have the Modify Password Settings global administrator permission.

To set up authentication settings:

  1. In TDAdmin, navigate to Organization Settings > Password Settings.
  2. Define the following settings:
    • Password Expiration – If password expiration is turned on, the user's password will expire after the specified number of days. You can choose to exempt certain user accounts from expiration, see details below.
    • Block Reusing Old Passwords – If this setting is enabled, the system will save the user's previous hashed passwords, and block them from reusing those passwords. Up to twenty-four historic passwords can be blocked.
  3. Save when all settings are configured as desired.

To exempt a user account from password expiration:

  1. In TDAdmin, navigate to > Users & Roles > Users > search for user account > Authentication.
  2. Check the checkbox for This person is exempt from password expiration.
  3. Click Save.
