Not able to return assets via WMI

Troubleshooting

  • Verify that customer is using the most up-to-date version of the Scanner software
  • Confirm that WMI has been enabled for the IP address(es) the Discovery Job is targeting)
  • Confirm the Discovery Job is active in TDAdmin
  • Confirm that the WMI Data Provider is configured for the Discovery Job
  • Test user's credentials using the WMI Tester in the Asset Discovery Manager (Utilities > WMI Test)
  • Use HTTPS or add IP Addresses to the Trusted Hosts List in the WMI Tester window:

Escalation Steps

Capture the following information and escalate to Engineering:

  • Discovery Job ID
  • Scanner ID
  • IP Address(es) of machines that should be captured via WMI
