Create and Edit RSS Modules

RSS Modules are Dashboard and Client Portal modules that display the contents of pre-configured RSS feeds. An RSS feed enables users to access updates from other websites within the TeamDynamix environment.  Administrators can configure RSS modules to display on Dashboards in Work Management (formerly TDNext) and the Client Portal.

In this article, we’ll cover how to:

• Create a New RSS Module
• Modify an Existing RSS Module
• Delete an RSS Module

Create a New RSS Module

To create a new RSS module:

1. Open the RSS Modules settings:
   1. Technicians: In the Client Portal, click your name in the top right > Admin > Modules & Pages > RSS Modules
   2. Global Admins: In TDAdmin, click Dashboard Templates > RSS Modules
2. At the top of the page, click + New. Supply the following information:
   • Name: The name of the RSS Feed/Desktop Module.
   • Feed URL: The URL to reference when attempting to load resources for the RSS Feed.
   • Level of Detail
     • Normal: Only the title of the feed item will be displayed in the module.
     • High: The title and body of each feed item will be displayed in the module.
   • Category: The name of the category with which the module will be associated. This is so that users can organize the RSS Modules for easy desktop management.
3. Click Preview to ensure the feed URL is valid
4. Finally, click Save.

Modify an Existing RSS Module

To modify an existing RSS module:

1. Open the RSS Modules settings:
   1. Technicians: In the Client Portal, click your name in the top right > Admin > Modules & Pages > RSS Modules
   2. Global Admins: In TDAdmin, click Dashboard Templates > RSS Modules
2. In the list of RSS modules, click the Edit link next to the module you’d like to edit
3. Modify the details as desired
   • ℹ️ If changes are made to the Feed URL, click the feed Name to test and preview the feed setup
4. Click the Save link next to the modified RSS module

Delete an RSS Module

To delete an RSS module:

1. Open the RSS Modules settings:
   1. Technicians: In the Client Portal, click your name in the top right > Admin > Modules & Pages > RSS Modules
   2. Global Admins: In TDAdmin, click Dashboard Templates > RSS Modules
2. On the list of RSS Modules, click the Delete link next to the appropriate module
3. Click the OK button in the confirmation popup
