ITAM Scripts

Summary

Scripts in ITAM offer a variety of additional capabilities.

Body

To activate and manage scripts in the Web, navigate to Settings -> Scripts.

See the Script Library for details on each script.

Scripts are listed by Name with a brief description.

  • Checking the box to the left of a script will make it available for use by all admins. Any script that can only be used in KeyConfigure will state that next to the name.
  • Most Scripts have a Settings icon (gear) to configure the default options used when the script runs. In those settings many options can be locked so they can't be changed when other users Run the script. This offers a way to prevent accidental changes to certain critical settings.
  • Some scripts have a Run button (play arrow) to run them on demand.
  • Some scripts will also have a Schedule icon (clock) to set a time when they will run automatically, like updating Warranty date information or records from InTune or Jamf.
  • If there is a new version of a script available from the one on your server, there will be an Update button on the right side. This is not something that is seen in KeyConfigure, so using the Web UI to verify your scripts are up to date is recommended.

Using Scripts

Using scripts in the Web is often done from the pull down menu in the upper right of the Ribbon on the Computers, Devices, or Purchases screens. Select one or more object in the list and click the menu to choose a script to run. A modal will pop up with the options for the script action. If this does not happen, you may need to return to the Settings - Scripts and set the defaults with the gear button first. You can also right click on records in various contexts and run scripts from the context menu.  Other scripts that are system level (like Sync with TeamDynamix) must be configured and run from in the Scripts page itself as noted above.
