Bulk update Text Area attributes on assets

I'm looking to bulk update a custom attribute on multiple assets from the TDNext asset/ci app Update screen..  This custom attribute I want to update across multiple assets is a Text Area field.  I don't see it as an option in our list of custom attributes. The custom attribute has Updateable checked.     

Can you bulk update Text Area custom attributes on asset records?

Hi Anna-Lisa,

There unfortunately isn't a way in the UI to achieve this currently as custom attributes are not supported for mass asset editing.

It would be a good enhancement idea though if you wished to submit it. You likely would want to use an asset import file to update this desired text attribute for your assets in question as that would be the easiest way to enter that information in en masse.

p.s. I found custom attributes are updateable en masse on the UI per a recent feature release: https://solutions.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1965/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=146933#BulkUpdate

I think my enhancement request can still stand to allow Text Area custom attributes to be updated this way, as that is the only kind in our list of custom attributes I'm not seeing in the drop-down on the Update UI screen. - Anna-Liisa Breit Mon 7/29/24 3:47 PM
