What is Needed For a User To Access a Workspace

Hello, I've added members to a workspace and made sure they have the workspace application checked in their User record but they are still getting a message saying they do not have permission. In my searches here all I've found is that they need to have the Workspace application checked and be added as a member in the workspace itself. What am I missing? I did notice that those who CAN access the workspace have access to TDNext and those who CAN'T do not. Does that make a difference?

Hello Rachel,

What URL are the ones who *can't* access the workspace trying to navigate to?

They wouldn't be able to access the workspace from a URL that involves the TDNext interface being referenced in the URL.

They would specifically need to be signing in to your client portal, and their security role for that client portal would need to have the permission active for View Projects since that role permission provides client portal access to both Projects and Workspaces.

Hi Mark,
Thank you! The URL they are using is: https://covenanthealthcare.teamdynamix.com/TDWorkManagement/Workspaces/Dashboard/Index/2932
I'm not sure if that's a TDNext one or not? How would I know if it was?
I want to make sure I'm looking in the correct place to ensure they are active for View Projects. Would that be in the Security Role itself or in their User record under Applications. The users getting the Access Denied have Projects, Workspaces and Client Portal checked under Applications. I looked at the Security Role they are assigned and I don't see an option for just "View Projects" to even select, I must not be looking in the correct place.

It equates to TDNext because you can only get to that location if you have TDNext access. - Mark Sayers Thu 2/16/23 12:52 PM
Okay...how do I make it available on the Client side? Sorry for all the questions, I've searched and searched and can't find the answer. I sat in on a demo with TDX in which they told me non TDNext users can access Workspaces simply by adding them as members and providing them the link. - Rachel Renckly Thu 2/16/23 1:04 PM
The users in question, as mentioned in my initial response, would specifically need to be signing in to your client portal, and their security role for that client portal would need to have the permission active for View Projects since that role permission provides client portal access to both Projects and Workspaces.

And they would go to the Projects menu link, and the Workspace would be available there.

Thank you Mark, in my response to your initial response I asked how I find "View Projects" in the Role Permissions. I'm not seeing anything with that name specifically, I may be overlooking it? Is it under the Projects section? I can't add a screenshot here :( - Rachel Renckly Thu 2/16/23 1:55 PM
I may have to schedule time to work with someone in a meeting, I don't see any Workspaces under the Projects section in the Client and I have all the security. I DO appreciate all your help! :) - Rachel Renckly Thu 2/16/23 1:59 PM
Workspaces are accessible only to someone with TDNext access, per the Workspaces KB article and the user level Applications page in TDAdmin > Users & Roles > Users where it states that TDNext is a prerequisite. - Mark Sayers Tue 2/21/23 5:00 PM
