Capturing PPM Workflow Step Name in the Request Step Responsibility notification

Is it possible to capture the workflow Step Name in the Request Step Responsibility notification? If so, how?

Thanks!

Is there a listing that tells me what data each of those tags represent?

I do not have a library of tags and what data they return, but I'll be happy to get you an answer on anything you have a question about. Many of them are fairly obvious as to what they return. You can also add them anywhere into the body of a template then use the "Show Preview" button at the top to see an example template that will show you what type of data a tag returns. Just look for your tag in the area of the template where you added it for testing. - Mark Sayers Fri 11/19/21 12:04 PM

Hi Mark, I don't think for project request notifications that it is pulling from any visible fields. It looks more like hard-coded responses that I do not have access to. Take a look at the Request Step Responsibility template for example, the Update Text tag returns "You are responsible for the current step ("Review initial request") in this project request's workflow" that text is no where in the request fields.

If this is the case, it would be nice to know what those predetermined strings are.

It could be different things for every single template. I'm not sure that is something we have readily available at this moment, however if interested submit a support ticket specifically where you list out each template that you'd want to know what the {{UpdateText}} tag will return so Engineering can be asked to provide that for you. Keep in mind that type of request no doubt would take some time to facilitate. - Mark Sayers Tue 11/23/21 12:31 PM

Hi Mark, quick follow up questions. {{{UpdateText}}} seems to pull different data depending on the notification its in. From where is this field pulling data?

No feedback
It is pulling from multiple places depending on the notification template involved. If it's a ticket status update for instance, it could display the updated status value, the comment that was included with it, and also any potential attribute value changes that were included in the Update action. - Mark Sayers Tue 11/23/21 9:03 AM

Thank you Mark. Two follow up questions:

  1. where can I find a list of all the tags and what they fields they pull into the notifications?
  2. Is it possible to do a conditional link based the Step Name?

You can access any of your notification templates for the ticketing app at the location I mentioned, then click on the Insert Tags drop down field to see all available fields. For question 2) what do you mean/what are you hoping to achieve? - Mark Sayers Fri 11/19/21 11:02 AM

Hello Billie,

It should already be there by default. The {{Title}} tag captures the step's name. You can modify the Ticket Workflow Step Assignment notification template from Admin > Applications > [ticket app] > Notification Templates.
