Knowledge Base Attribute Type: Any integer (or similar)?

We score knowledge base articles created by student employees. I created an attribute to record the score but I used a 'text box' attribute type because I couldn't find an 'integer' attribute type. We are onto gamification and my reports are not sorting the way I want (descending example: 9, 7, 10). Am I missing the "integer" choice? If not, was it not included for a reason?

Hello Greg,

If you create a new Attribute for the KB in admin, and give it an Attribute Type of "Text Box", you will see an option appear to select Data Type. In that drop down, you can specify "Integer" so it will require integer values to be entered into that field.

Please give this a shot and see if it accomplishes what you need.

What is the best way to convert an attribute type for a currently-in-use attribute? I don't want to lose history found in the current attribute.

Unfortunately you can't convert custom attributes to have a different attribute type or data type once you've created it. They're locked in forever. Creating new is the only way to get what you want. - Mark Sayers Thu 2/14/19 11:14 AM
