Cascading Attributes and Attachments: Attribute Type

Based on the answer to a previous response on a form, I'd like to have the requestor attach a file to the service request. I don't think I can use the out-of-the-box attribute called "attachment" because I cannot use that in cascading. It also looks like there is no attribute type called "attachment" - or whatever that type would be called. I don't want to clutter up the form having the field showing all the time (since it will be used by a minority of requestors). Is there a current solution or should I request that a new "attachment" attribute type be added as an enhancement request?

Hi Greg,

You are correct we do not have a custom attribute type that will facilitate adding attachments to a ticket. Also, out of the box attributes cannot cascade nor can they be a parent of other attribute(s) at this time, as you pointed out.

I think an enhancement is going to be the way to go if you are not wanting the stock Attachment field to be visible on the form at all times.

Sincerely,
