Ticket Reporting - Group By Field

Is there a mechanism to group the results of reports? There's the ability to order by fields, but not to group by fields, e.g. grouping by classification would provide a visual break between incidents, changes, etc., as opposed to a simple order by classification, e.g.

Incidents

  • one
  • two
  • three

Problems

  • one

Changes

  • one
  • two

Releases

  • One
Tags custom-report

Hi David,

There is not a Group By mechanism for reporting currently. Any custom reports which you've created can always be exported to Excel though, and you should then be able to manipulate your reports using the full range of Excel tools available there. TeamDynamix does not have this feature at this time though.

Thank you. Would be a nice to have, but perhaps an even better option would be a way to import the data to Google Sheets, where we could construct our own dynamic dashboards.That's just thinking out loud though.

I vote for Google Sheets as well.  Up until now I've used Excel pivot tables to group by responsible group and/or person, etc.  And I've noticed Google Sheets doesn't translate pivot table data from Excel at ALL.

A group by option in native TDX would be nice - has anyone requested this formally as an enhancement?

I do not know for sure if it has been submitted, but I would always encourage you to submit any enhancement idea you can think of that would help your organization while being as detailed as possible about the improvement you'd desire and how it would be a help to you. Whenever you request an enhancement based on a question, it would be nice to come back to the question and post your enhancement ticket number. That way others that want the same enhancement can reference the question and your ticket number in their request. - Greg Van De Mark Thu 2/4/21 9:31 AM
