Can I Revoke the "Edit" Option for Users Who Aren't the KB Admin
Hi there,
I'm the KB Admin for our organization, and I noticed that other Users are able to edit KB articles without me having to approve the changes. Is there any way for me to change that? I.e., Can I get rid of the Edit button, or can I get rid of the option for Users who aren't the KB admin?
Thanks so much,
Caitlin

Caitlin,
Those would be under Admin > Users & Roles > Security Roles > [select (or create) your security role].

Hi Mark,
Thanks for answering. This might be silly, and maybe I'm missing something obvious, but when I try to create a new security role, it only gives me options for roles regarding tickets, not the KB (see attached). Where would I find security roles that affect the KB?
Thanks again,
Caitlin

Hi Caitlin,
There is a security role permission titled "Always Edit Articles" for the Knowledge Base. This allows them to edit any article for any reason without needing any approval for the changes to take immediate effect.
You would have to find the security role that those users have, and take that option away from the role as a whole. Meaning, anyone assigned to that security role would not have that permission the next time they signed in. It cannot be controlled on a user-by-user basis at this time.
I hope this has explained how user permissions for the Knowledge Base can be modified. If you have any further questions on this please let me know.
Sincerely,
