Act Hours v.s. Time Types
I'm new to TeamDynamix and am trying to understand how time spent on a project is measured. I have a report that my department runs that measures how much time we spent working for other departments and another measuring how much time we spent (within the time measured in the previous report) on specific types of tasks. Ultimately, the numbers should be matching up between the two reports, but one report shows almost 500 more hours than the other. I'm trying to sort out where the problem is but I can't seem to find it. How are actual hours related to time types/hours?

Hey Mark,
I'm sorry, it looks like your email came in right before a flurry of others and I must have missed responding. Thanks for your prompt help. I actually found the problem with my report. It was not an issue of hours not matching up but instead I was accidentally filtering for two different time frames. I don't think that the Time Report will filter time in the way that I needed. I was trying to pull everything that had been worked on within the year, even if the ticket was created in 2015. Instead it was either pulling everything that my department had ever done or just the tickets that were created after the year began in January. I figured out a work around in excel. Thanks for your help again!

Hi Adam,
I wanted to reach out again and see if you were able to take a look at the questions I had asked when I responded to your question on 3/18 at 3:02 PM? If you would be able to take another look at the details we asked for and provide them to us, we will better be able to diagnose the reasoning for the numbers in your reports being offset like they are.
Thank you for your time and please let me know if you have any further questions on this matter.
Sincerely,

Hi Adam,
I would like to first ask if you are able to provide the Application those reports were created in, as well as the type of report (ie. Actual Hours Report in Projects/Workspaces or whichever type of report and application is correct)?
Also, can you attach screen shots of the details page of each of the two reports so we can see if any of the filtering is causing the discrepancy in the hours you are seeing?
These additional details and screen shots will help us in getting a more definite answer for your reporting problem.
Thank you in advance for whatever you can provide. If you have any questions please let me know.
Sincerely,
Mark Sayers
