Missing 'Admin' icon in the applications menu
I have a user that I believe is setup as an Admin, and has signed on since her security was upgraded (we are in TD 9.2).
When she goes to the application menu, the 'Admin' icon does not appear - she will see Desktop, Analysis, Assets/CIs,Briefcase,,, - but not Admin.
Any thoughts on what I am missing? (her user access was updated and she was added as an Administrator)
Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,
Good news! We think we found the issue. I would still double check with her that she is definitely using vt.teamdynamix.com to log in with, but we believe her username from your "VT Admin Sandbox" organization was the account given admin access instead of her account for the production "Virginia Tech" organization. This would definitely explain why the account she has been logging on with cannot see the Admin application.
We went ahead and made the adjustment to add access to the correct username from the "Virginia Tech" organization. You may take a look in your list of organization Admins and give her any further admin permissions you want to. She will need to sign out and then sign back in one more time, but this time the problem should be resolved.
We are also going to write up a ticket to add better clarification on the Add Admin page to use the user's TeamDynamix username when adding admins and not their Authentication Username. Had that been there, that might have prevented this scenario in the first place.
Let us know if this resolves the problem, or if any other issues pop up relating to this.

Hi Tim,
I wanted to reach out again to confirm Deborah was able to log in to her account and have the correct admin permissions. When you get a chance can you let me know if the changes we made to her account fixed everything?
If any issues still exist please let me know and we will look into them.

I've checked with her about the URL she is using, but have not heard back. From her:
I have cleared cookies and all browser history for IE. I don’t use Chrome as much so I don’t know how to do this with Chrome. I have completely rebooted my machine as well as clearing the IE browser cookies and history. The admin icon is still not appearing with the desktop icons.
What's next in the research on this? Tim
Tim,
From what we see, the account is set up properly. We recommend (one more time) she close every browser window of whichever browser she is using, open it again, clear all cookies, and ensure she is going to the URL of vt.teamdynamix.com.
Let me know what happens after that has been tried.

Hi Tim,
Can you provide the name of the user so we can check her account from our end?

She checked in and in her words has:
logged out and closed the browser, then opened a new browser (tried with IE and Chrome) and tried again. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Any suggestions on what to look at or what information may be helpful?
Thanks, Tim
Hi Tim,
It sounds like you have hit most everything that needs to be checked to add an Admin. Since all the settings and BE Admin options were saved, has she fully logged out and back in to the system? Possibly after closing her browser completely, and starting it again? That's the only thing that readily comes to mind as what could be stopping the Admin option from showing on her Applications listing.
Let me know about that, and we will dig into this further if need be.

Sure and thanks for the reply,
all the work is in TDNext.
I go into Admin / User and pull her up. From the pop up box i go through all the options(General, auth, Applications,,,) and compare hers with mine (that access is available to me). Areas I hit are:
- under General, I changed her Security role to 'Site Administrators'
- under Applications, she has every application checked on and under 'Security Role' she has 'Site Administrators' selected. She does not have the 'Application Administrator' box selected, but neither do I (nor another admin that I use as a sample).
I go into Admin, click on my site name and Added her as an Administrator ('Add Admin' button) to our site. When I click on her from the Administrator list, she has all Permissions except 'Delete BE Administrators'
Hopefully I have not forgotten an area that I went into - it's been a couple of days... Tim
Hi Tim,
Can you describe the process you took to add your user as an Administrator? I will be better informed to let you know if something was missed once I have that information.
Thanks in advance for providing that information.
