Overview
This article documents the keyboard shortcuts specific to the Web Plan Manager. Standard keyboard navigation works throughout the toolbar and other controls on the page.
Navigating Into and Out of the Table
When you first load a plan, the table receives focus automatically. While the table has focus, most keyboard input is captured by the table for cell navigation and editing. To remove focus from the table, press the Esc key. To return focus to the table, press Shift + Esc, tab to it, or click on a cell.
Cell Navigation
While the table has focus, the following keys can be used to navigate between cells:
- Arrow Up, Arrow Down, Arrow Left, Arrow Right - move between cells
- Tab - move to the next cell
- Shift + Tab - move to the previous cell
- Enter - open the selected cell for editing, or confirm the current edit and move down
- F2 - open the selected cell for editing
- Esc - cancel the current edit, or remove focus from the table if not editing
- Shift + F10 - open the right-click context menu
Task Management Shortcuts
The following shortcuts are available when cells are selected in the table and the plan is checked out for editing. A complete list is also available within the application by opening the toolbar menu and selecting Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Ctrl + Arrow Up ↑ - move the selected task(s) up
- Ctrl + Arrow Down ↓ - move the selected task(s) down
- Ctrl + Arrow Left ← - outdent the selected task(s)
- Ctrl + Arrow Right → - indent the selected task(s)
- Ctrl + Delete - delete the selected task(s)
- Ctrl + Insert - insert a new task directly above the selected task(s)
- Ctrl + M - milestone the selected task(s)
- Ctrl + Space - expand or collapse the selected task
Note: the task management shortcuts listed above require the Ctrl key to be held while pressing the second key. Without Ctrl, the arrow keys will navigate between cells as described in the Cell Navigation section. These shortcuts are only active when the plan is checked out and no cell is currently being edited.
