Overview and Management of Custom Pages

Summary

A list of all Custom Pages for your organization can be viewed in the Admin tool by locating the Organization Settings > Custom Pages section on the left side of the page. These allow users to include custom content as a part of the Analysis or Finance applications by providing a page Name and URL.

A Custom Page is meant to be an application which is hosted on the same servers as the TeamDynamix environment you use, shares the same authentication token and displays as a clickable link in the left navigation of an application. This feature was the precursor to the existing Report Builder functionality. This could still be a useful customization opportunity though as it could be used to host a custom interface inside of TeamDynamix for a client-specific need in the application. Knowing this, this functionality is not intended to be configured initially by a client but can be used to maintain or disable new/existing customizations.

When users enter either of these applications, any Custom Pages for that application will be displayed in a section on the left-hand side of the page. Selecting a custom page will cause the web page at the provided URL to display instead of one of the reports for the application.

Configuration Options

When creating/editing Custom Pages, there are a variety of fields that must be provided for configuration. These fields are detailed below:

  • Application: Whether the custom page will be associated with the Analysis or Finance application.
  • Name: The name to be displayed for the page in the application.
  • URL: The Internet address where the page's content can be located. This will normally be provided to you by TeamDynamix.
  • Order: This controls how multiple custom pages will be ordered for a specific application. For a given application, all custom pages are ordered by Order then by Name.

All of the above fields are required when creating or editing a custom page. However, there is also an Active checkbox that can optionally be changed. This will toggle whether or not that custom page appears in the Custom Pages section for the specified application.

Deleting Custom Pages

Sometimes these custom pages may become unused and they should be removed from the system.

This can be performed by clicking the Delete link next to each unneeded custom page. Click the OK button on the confirmation dialog to remove the page, or the Cancel button to prevent the operation from occurring.
