Task Indentation And Positioning

When a task becomes indented, the task above it becomes a "parent" task and the indented task becomes a "child" task. The opposite is true for outdenting a task. Tasks may have multiple "child" tasks and multiple "parent" tasks. The parent task then assumes the due dates and total time of all children tasks. To indent a task, the user must:

  1. Go to the task list for the appropriate iteration/plan in Iteration/Plan Manager.
  2. Click on the task's row number to highlight the row. Right-click and select the appropriate icon from the context menu to move the task up, down, indent or outdent. The Indent, Outdent , Move Up and Move Down buttons in the ribbon bar can be used in the same manner after selecting task rows.
