Google Drive Integration Summary

Integration Summary

TeamDynamix provides an integration to store links to files hosted externally in Google Drive inside of our applications. These links may be stored on tickets, project management (file store) briefcases and various other work items in the TeamDynamix application suite. This integration uses the Google Drive filepicker API to authenticate the end-user into Google Drive, allow them to choose from files they have access to, then store share links in TeamDynamix in the aforementioned spots.

The links generated are similar in nature to the share links that can be created in the native Google Drive applications. Clicking a shared link in TeamDynamix redirects the user, in a separate browser tab, to the file in the native Google Drive application. From the Google Drive side, the user may interact with the file to the degree they have permission to do so there. TeamDynamix does not use the file picker API to display embedded files in our application, allow creating or editing of files, deleting files, or facilitate any other type of file manipulation. The sole purpose of the integration is to generate clickable share links (which direct to Google Drive) to provide convenient access from TeamDynamix work items to large files stored externally.

This integration is completely voluntary to use. As such, the integration is opt-in, and is not enabled for TeamDynamix clients by default. Clients may choose if/when they would like to enable this integration in the TeamDynamix Admin console. They may also end usage of the integration at any time by opting back out of it in the same location.
