Managing Users in C.A.I

This walk through article will help C.A.I Admin to add/modify/deactivate, lock/unlock user accounts, and reset users passwords in their C.A.I environment. In order to modify users you must have the minimum permissions to View, Edit, Delete Users.

This article will discuss adding, modifying, removing, deactivating, activating, locking, unlocking and resetting passwords for users to your C.A.I environment.

Adding Users

Adding Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. In the upper right select the green "Add" Button
  3. Fill in the associated information of 
    • NOTE: The password field is a hard coded password used for if SSO is not working, or to bypass the SSO log in
    • NOTE: By Checking "Email Confirmed" this prevents the user from having to verify their email the first time they log in
  4. Select "Roles" at the top of the new user window.
  5. Apply Proper Role(s), or User Group(s) to the user

  6. Click Save

Modifying Users

Modifying Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. Select the user that you want to modify
  3. Click Save

User Settings


User settings are all settings related to what the user has set up in your environment. These settings only relate specifically to the selected user. Often times when a user can not see a specific column in a table or view that they have appropriate permissions to view, clearing user settings will bring back the missing view. 

Deactivating Users

Deactivating Individual Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. Click the drop down located to the left the users email and select "Make Inactive"

Deactivating Multiple Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. Select the check boxes of the users you want to deactivate
  3. In the upper right select the "Make Inactive" button" to deactivate the selected users. 

 

Activating Users

Activating Individual Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. In the "Status" Column of the table select the filter of "Inactive" to display inactive users
  3. Click the drop down located to the left the users email and select "Make Active"

Activating Multiple Users to your C.A.I environment

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. In the "Status" Column of the table select the filter of "Inactive" to display inactive users
  3. Select the check boxes of the users you want to activate
  4. In the upper right select the "Make Active" button" to deactivate the selected users. 

Locking/Unlocking User Accounts

Locking User Accounts

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. Click the drop down located to the left the users email and select "Lock"

Unlocking User Accounts

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. In the "Status" Column of the table select the filter of "Locked" to filter locked users
  3. Click the drop down located to the left the users email and select "Unlock"

Resetting User Passwords

Resetting a users password

  1. Once Logged in to your C.A.I environment go to Administration - > Users (Located under the "Security" header)
  2. Click the drop down located to the left the users email and select "Reset Password"

This will send that specific user an email to reset their password.
