How are account attributes used in Team Dynamix

I'm trying to find a way to notify a particular college CIO when a user from that college submits a specific kind of ticket.  I thought I would set up and account attribute to indicate which CIO is associated with each college (our colleges are set up as our account/depts).  I can't seem to figure out how to utilize this attribute either through a workflow or an automation rule.  What am I missing?

Hello Kimberly,

If it is a custom person attribute, you would find that on your automation rule or workflow Condition type steps under the "Requestor Attributes" portion of the filter.

Thanks Mark.

It's actually not a person attribute that I'm referring to. It's an account attribute. I set this up under organization settings > account attributes. Do you know how those can be used? I'm hoping I can use them in a workflow or automation rule.

Thank you.

Ah I see. They can be used as well in workflow Condition steps and should also be available in Automation Rules. Just scroll to the very bottom of the filter list and there's a section for Account/Department attributes. - Mark Sayers Wed 6/9/21 12:50 PM
I do see where they are available in automation rules in the filter section. I don't seem to be able to use them in notifications or assigning responsibility.

I also don't see it in workflows. I do see other attributes that can be used in workflow steps like department manager and location attributes but I don't see the account attribute that I've set up being available there and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

It would only be available to workflow steps with filters, like Condition steps. Otherwise for like an Approval step it would not be available. - Mark Sayers Wed 6/9/21 4:05 PM
