Update User Names

Our user names need to change in TDX. What would  the best approach be thru the web API's to do this. It is my understanding that the username cannot be updated thru the API's only the authentication username , but it  can be done manually. Doing it manually is not feasible as it affects our whole organization's usernames.  I thought of de-activating the old record , and creating new user records with the new formatted usrename. But I need the tickets associated with the old username record to be linked to the new username record etc.

Hello Wayne,

Your best bet here is to submit a Support ticket to us that can then be escalated to our technical team, assuming the number of users is large enough.

You'd want to generate a spread sheet of your users that need modified that contains their UID, current username, and desired username.

The first two parts of that report should be obtainable via an Analysis > People report. The last column you'd have to generate yourself.
