11.2 release notes and custom desktops deprecation

After hearing the 11.2 preview session, one of our clients asked if customizable Desktops are going away.  My impression was that was only for local installations (and we are SaaS), but at the same time I'm not sure if that's referring to the general ability to customize desktops, or some unique ability offered for on-premise customers that we wouldn't see as a SaaS customer, anyway.  Could you clarify what this ability refers to, please?  This is asked partially out of curiousity.

From the release notes: "The ability to create and display custom desktop modules will be removed in the next major release. This feature is only available in on premise deployments."

Hello David,

You are correct this was a feature that was only ever available to installed clients, and it was so little used that we are deprecating it.

This will have no effect on your SaaS or Private Cloud customer reporting capabilities.
