Client Portal Headers and Anchor Links are not compatible

When creating client portal articles and utilizing anchors for specific locations within the page, when an anchor link is selected, the page scrolls to the anchor link, but the actual starting-point appears to be "hidden" behind the top-level, header banners (i.e. the TeamDynamix header with the search bar, as well as the "Home, Projects/Workspaces, etc..." header). I've confirmed this in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Firefox browsers. Please let me know if there are additional questions or needs on this issue.

Hi Josh,

This is expected behavior that is a result of our responsive design, which allows for the website to operate well on devices of any size. The Client Portal header will only remain fixed to the top of the page if the browser window is wide enough. Otherwise, this header will scroll along with the rest of the page content.

In this case, clicking on an anchor link will properly position the section at the top of the browser window. We implemented anchor links under the assumption that the Client Portal header would not be fixed to the top, as most devices are not this large.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Hopefully I have explained why we chose to implement anchor links in this way. Please let us know if you would like additional clarification or there's anything else we can do for you.

Sincerely,
Jamey Stock

This is great, thanks! I had to increase my pixel values to 200 due to our logo, but this definitely fixes our issues with maximized browser windows. - Laura Castleberry Tue 9/8/20 11:33 AM

We have been using the method detailed here and it works well:

I have a "work-around" to accommodate this, I just put the anchor about 5 lines above where I "actually' need it to land. I know this doesn't work well if one is using a mobile device, but most of our customers are hitting our client portal on a desktop.

If there is not a way to have the anchors work and to have responsive design at the same time, I'd choose to use this work-around and keep responsive design the way it is. Although, I do hope that a solution for this comes out at some time.
