Mass Upload of Tickets

I was hoping you could tell me how I could go about uploading (creating) a lot of tickets at one time. We are transitioning from what will be a legacy system to Team Dynamix as our new ticketing tool. Any guidance you can provide is much appreciated.

Hi Melissa,

You are able to upload multiple tickets at once by using the Ticket Import tool. This can be performed in a ticketing application by locating the +New link in the toolbar and selecting Ticket Import from the list of actions. With this functionality, you are able to supply information for multiple tickets via an Excel spreadsheet. A template spreadsheet can be downloaded from the first page for this import process.

When providing information, each ticket must have Title, Requestor, Acct/Dept, and Ticket Type information provided. Other information such as Classification, Service, and a variety of Custom Attributes can optionally be supplied for these tickets. After uploading the spreadsheet, you can continue to click the Next button and follow the instructions on the screen to ensure that all of the supplied tickets are created.

It is worth noting that the ticket import process can take a long time to run if there are a very large volume of tickets to create. In this case, we recommend running multiple imports with different spreadsheets. This makes it easier to tell the cause of any errors that may arise and is more likely to run successfully.

I hope this helps to explain how to mass-create tickets. Please let us know if you would like additional clarification or there is anything else we can do to assist you.

Sincerely,
Jamey Stock

Has the Ticket Import tool moved? I didn't see it under the New link on the toolbar of my ticketing application? - Bobby Jones Tue 12/1/20 5:45 PM
@Bobby - ha!, I was just searching the TeamDynamix client portal to figure out how to import tickets. Couldn't find it either... Searching for "Ticket Import" just brought up a bunch of old answers in the questions area. Poked around TDX for a while and found it.
* TDNext > Click on the gear icon in the top-right of the screen
* Click on Ticket Import

After that, I tried searching just on the knowledge base and found the documentation:
